Travelogues: Tiong Ang, Remy Jungerman, Jimmie Durham

‘Travelogues’ dismisses the hardcore political agenda of intercultural discourse
and seeks to engage in perhaps less intellectual yet more personal questions
about the world at large. Travelogue is a qualification of a genre in which the
author unfolds his or her own experiences, research topics, reveries and observations during travelling in unknown territories. These artists base their works on the confrontation and learning from other cultures, whether as an immigrant, a post-colonial subject, cultural tourist or just traveller. Challenging conventional mapping methods, they compose imaginary maps where reality, memory, feelings, space and time melt into a creative process, which evolves as an invitation to the travel.
