JENS PFEIFER

Jens Pfeifer (1963) was brought up in the forest. Animals and the forest itself form a familiar and ever returning image in Pfeifer’s work. Collecting pictures from nature, similar to an anthropologist, his art contrasts with a scientific approach and elaborates a direct, timeless and unstructured dialogue with the viewer. The artist searches for origins of language and myth, by playing on human instinctive emotions. His ink drawings, sculptures and glass works reject therefore what is connected to civilization and explore untamed territory which has escaped from domestication by human influence.

For his solo show at Lumen Travo, Pfeifer presents works made in many different media- drawings, sculpture and glass works- showing his mastery of various media in order to explore an ever fascinating theme.
